This gorgeous girl is Zoey.  She was rescued from a local pound after her owners dumped her there because they were moving.  Sadly, this is a common reason for why people surrender their pets and to be honest, it’s very frustrating for those of us who do rescue.  Pets can relocate just as easily as people can and many places allow pets with a small deposit, so it’s very possible to move and keep your pets if you want to.  We can only imagine how frightened and confused Zoey must have felt to lose the only family that she knew.  We are just glad that we could help her and give her a chance at finding a permanent, loving home!

Zoey is a beauty – she has long black & white fur and a very pretty face with big, green eyes.  She is not very big and weighs approximately 7 lbs, so she shouldn’t get much larger since she is an adult.  Zoey LOVES people and enjoys being the center of attention.  She likes to follow her foster mom around and rub up against her legs to let her know that she wants to be cuddled.  She doesn’t mind being held and will let you carry her around on your shoulder like a baby for as long as you like.  She has a playful streak and will chase her mouse toy if you throw it, but she’s much more content curling up next to you for snuggles.  Zoey prefers to be the queen bee of the house and can be rather crabby to other cats, so she would do best as an only kitty.  A small, cat-friendly dog may be okay but only after a slow and proper introduction.  Kids are no problem as Zoey lived with young children in her former home and did just fine.  She may take a few days to adjust to a new home but she tends to warm up pretty quickly and would make a great companion for just about any family.  Zoey is spayed, microchipped, tested negative for Feline Leukemia/FIV and is current on vaccinations – DOB 7/22/11, tag # 8538JB.
