Schey is the root word for shy and shy is the reason I chose this name for this kitty.  Schey is from a hoarder house in St. Peters and has been inside all of his life, but was not socialized well at all.  He is very fearful and skittish and even after a couple of months will still hiss at me when I approach him.  He has zero aggression instinct and does not slap or bite or growl.  Once I gently touch him he melts like warmed butter and LOVES brushing.  He has perfect house manners with the litter box but one food issue that drives me crazy, he wants to bury his food all the time.  He will play with his dry food and then hide it under the mat for later.  I believe that having to compete for food in his original home has taught him to always plan for his next meal and hide a snack for later.

He loves the plastic toy with the ball inside, likes his hanging cloth toy, and likes noisy balls to chase around.  He will be fearful of all guests and a very calm and quiet home is a must.  He also prefers my husband’s company to mine, so a male owner is a plus.  A shy kitty takes time to adjust to change and patience is necessary, a hiding place is always needed for those times when he feels threatened as well; and of course respect for his need to hide!   Schey is neutered, up to date on all shots, micro chipped, treated for parasites, and negative for FIV and FeLV.  Schey is Heartland #8143CL
