Meet Roosevelt! Roosevelt is a very handsome orange and white domestic shorthair; he is roughly five years old. The Lovely Heartland Ladies have a huge soft spot for special needs animals so when they heard about a cat stuck out in the snow with a bum leg they had him transported to their vet immediately. Roosevelt limped out of his carrier and has been nothing but a big love bug from the start, it was obvious that there was something seriously wrong with his leg though. He wouldn’t put any weight on it and the tissue on his paw was turning black. He had surgery the same day and the vet said his bone looked like a corkscrew, needless to say there was nothing that could be done and it had to be removed. Roosevelt has healed up like a champ and it is pretty darn cute the way he wiggles his little nub when you scratch his cheek just right! This boy has a hearty appetite and is going to be a good sized boy once he fills out.

Missing his leg doesn’t stop him from getting around and jumping almost as good as his four legged friends, he also uses the litter box just fine too. He is so loving that it is easy to pass time just sitting with him and giving him tummy and cheek rubs, he is totally content to just lay in your lab and purr away! Roosevelt has been neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, Felv/FIV tested negative, and his leg has been removed. This cat is so sweet and special that his foster mom is hoping to find him a home soon or he might never leave! If you are in the market for a big boy who is as sweet as he is handsome, then Roosevelt is the kitty for you!
