Hope is a 1.5 year old black and white short haired tuxedo female.  She has a black nose and the cutest face.   Hope’s story is one of much luck and this girl deserves a family to spoil her rotten.  She was rescued by a group called St. Louis Feral Cat Outreach.  They received a call from a concerned citizen in Caseyville Illinois.  A family of kitties was living near a motel next to a very busy road.  They were concerned that something bad might happen to the family.  The family consisted of a dad, mom(Hope) and 3 kittens about 4 to 5 months old.  On top of that, Hope  looked like she was very pregnant again so St. Louis Feral Cat outreach went to work trapping the family.  Hope was easily trapped with two of her kittens (Asher-adopted and Ahmali- still available).  Dad was caught a few days later and the last kitten, Amelia took a week and a lot of hard work by the group but they eventually got her.  Amelia is still up for adoption.   Dad went to a farm because he was pretty feral and the rest of the family ended up with Heartland.

Poor Hope was so skinny, yet so huge in the belly.   She looked like she had a sideways watermelon in her belly.  Upon her first vet visit, the doctor said she thought she could see 7 to 8 heads on the xray and that she could have them any day.  Hope’s foster mom had never had a pregnant mom yet so this was both exciting and scary.  Eight kittens was A LOT.  Hope gave birth 2 weeks from the day she arrived at her foster mom’s house.  It was June 16, 2012 and she delivered 10 – yes 10 kittens.  All 10 kittens survived birth and they weighed between 1.6 ounces and 2.3 ounces.  The normal weight of a kitten is 3 to 4 ounces and the general rule of thumb is kittens under 3 ounces have a very difficult time surviving.  They can have a lot of medical issues.  Hope was a fantastic mother and all 10 babies survived!  Luckily they were in a foster home when they arrived because the temperatures in June 2012 were super hot and most of the babies, if any, would not have survived.

Hope is a sweet girl with a very cute face and a black nose.  She is good around kids and just loves to be petted and rub her face on you.   She is a talker and will tell you about her day.   She has put on a bit of weight so she needs to go to a home that will play with her every day.  She does enjoy toys and especially the laser pointer.  Can you give Hope the life she deserves?

Hope has been spayed, is up to date on all shots, microchipped, dewormed and tested negative for feline leukemia and feline aids.  Hope is tag #  JAK
