Delilah is a 1.5 year old orange and white short haired female.  Poor Delilah has had a very rough time in life.  She came from Louisiana, MO with her kittens.  They were all extremely ill and one of her kittens passed away even before they got to St. Louis.  If she had stayed in the pound down there she and her babies would have been euthanized for sure.  After a lot of medical care and time the family got better.  Her two babies were named Rocky and Adrian after the Rocky movie’s because they were such fighters.  Rocky has since been adopted and his sister is still available.

Delilah is on the shy side and still fearful of humans a bit.  She does enjoy petting and canned food.  When Heartland first got her they had to do so much medical care that she really did not like humans, especially when they kept putting medicine in her.  She’s overcome that somewhat and I think she will blossom in the right home.  Delilah has a weakened immune system due to the Herpes virus.   She seems to get colds very easily and sometimes they require veterinary care.  She needs someone that will be willing to provide veterinary care for her lifetime.  We support her immune system by giving her lysine in her food and interferon in her water.  She is currently getting over a bad skin infection and her hair is finally starting to grow back.  She needs someone that will give her the love and care she deserves.  I think her immune system will get better once she is in her forever home.  Her current foster home can be stressful at times with all the other kitties and children.  When she gets stressed it can cause her Herpes virus to flare up and that’s when she gets sick.

Delilah has been spayed, is up to date on her shots, dewormed, microchipped, tested negative for feline leukemia and feline aids.  Tag #  JAK
