Cat Of The Month
A lady brought me into McCauley's Veterinary Clinic as a stray just a couple of months ago. After several attempts to find me a home were futile,  I was to be euthanized the next morning. The vet knew that that would be my plight no matter what shelter took me in unless it was a rescue group. I had an ear infection & FIV so a possible adoption might be difficult.  Rescue groups were full including Heartland.  But after taking one look at me, Heartland couldn't let that happen.  So now my foster says it is time for me to find a permanent home. Here is a little explanation of what's going on with me now.

My name is Noah & if you are searching for a super handsome, playful & very special cat, you need look no further. I am a Maine Coon mix & my foster mom thinks I am awesome looking & acting.  In fact, I'm a kitten locked up in a 4 year old adult body.  Watch out for your legs & feet because to me they are fair targets for my big paws to grab at.  One small fact that my new family should be aware of is that I have this FIV-feline immunodeficiency virus which means that my immune system is weaker than a non-FIV cat.  I can lead a normal, healthy life if I am kept indoors where I am protected from exposure to strays or other outside elements.  In fact I recently battled an ear infecton that I came to Heartland with & minor surgery & recovered fully with just antibiotics & some tender loving care. It is safer that I go to a home where other FIV cats are or to a home where there are no cats as the virus could be passed on through deep bite wounds.  My foster mom says that I am so laid back & non-threatening that she can't imagine me ever getting into a fight, kind of a gentle giant.  I pose no threat to other species or humans.  I need no medication for this virus.   I am neutered, microchipped & vaccinated.
