Belle is a darling persian/himalayan mix who is waiting for a fairy-tale ending. Right now she looks a bit like Cinderella before she got invited to the ball. Poor Belle's long coat was neglected and she had fleas, so her skin has been left with itchy spots and bare patches from where the mats were taken out. She doesn't mind brushing and never complained and allowed us to comb the mats out - we didn't even have to cut them! When she regains her full coat she will be so regal! She's still just as cute as she can be and doesn't expect much out of life. She lost her home due to a death in the family. Her former owners reported that she would play with the family dog and hasn't really been around other cats before. In foster care she is showing us that she doesn't really care for other felines, but with time could adjust to one that would ignore her. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations. HHS Tag#AT5335 DOB 4/1/02
Star, female black DOB 9/4/04. Star came to us as a stray that wondered up to just the right home. A nice lady just thought she was such a wonderful cat, she deserved more than just being a stray. Star is a very sweet and docile cat. She would get along fine with another cat and possibly a cat friendly dog. She has been spayed, tested negative for feline leukemia/fiv, vaccinated and microchipped. HHS tag 5213JS.
Babydoll is smart - that's why her eyes are closed in this picture, she learned to avoid the camera flash! She's had her share of good and bad luck but she was smart enough to find her way to people that cared and made it to Heartland. She wandered into a warehouse in North County and luckily found cat-friendly people who started to feed her and look for owners, but never found any. She had a bit of bad luck when she turned up one day with bite wounds on her face. But good luck was with her because a nice lady took her home and nursed her wounds. The bad luck is that through that bite, she became terrified of other animals and FIV+. The woman felt bad about keeping Babydoll closed up in the spare room so she asked us to help find a home for her where she can be part of the family. She's a very sweet girl who loves to be held and snuggle. She needs a home where she can be an only pet. The difficult journey is almost over for poor Babydoll, perhaps you are the last bit of luck that she has been waiting for? Babydoll is FIV+, spayed, microchipped and current on her vaccinations. Newman came from a local pound. He was a stray and his people never came for him! He's so very sweet and playful. He adores the laser toy - that little beam drives him crazy and he'll run all over to chase it. Newman also gets along very well with other cats and tolerates dogs too. Children shouldn't be a problem for this laid-back guy but he can get a little carried away when he plays. Dressed up in his tuxedo, he's ready for anything! He's been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

Touched by an Angel
Yes, these pictures are of the same kitty! One is from the day she was found on the side of the road after being hit by a car; the other is after all her surgeries. Angel is a female Norwegian Forest Cat about nine months old. She lost the tips of her ears, the end of her tail, and the rear toes to frostbite, you see she was on the side of that road in the coldest part of winter unable to move to safety; her pelvis was broken and she could not walk. She now has pins holding her pelvis together and gets around just fine. I promise her hair will grow back and she will be even more beautiful than she is now! Angel loves to be brushed and loved. She gets along with cats, friendly dogs, and gentle kids. After all she has been through we hope the angel that saved her also finds her the perfect home. Angel is negative for FIV, FeLV; is current on all shots, treated for all parasites, and just waiting to be spoiled by you. CL
Sinatra is a gorgeous long-haired flame point Himalayan. He was in a kill-shelter and his time was up. The staff begged us to give him a chance. He is a very sweet boy with the bluest eyes and he is so white that he looks like a big, fluffy marshmallow. This picture is a little dark and doesn't show off how white he is. We've had a dental done for him because his teeth are in rough shape for his young age and because of his sore mouth he loves to eat Fancy Feast. He's been neutered, microchipped, tested negative for FIV/Felv and is current on his vaccinations. HHS Tag#AT5326 DOB 3-17-03
"Lilly", Tag #4913, female, domestic medium hair, date of birth: 8/02, color: white/taupe.
Lilly came from a home with many cats, but has been in foster care since 7/13/07, along with several other kittens from the same home. It wasn't that she wasn't loved - there were just so many, unaltered cats, and over the years things got out of hand. Lilly has had her share of litters of kittens, but not anymore, since first on our list was getting her spayed. She is a beautiful cat. Himalayan is in her past somewhere. She is very affectionate, interested in new beginnings, can live with or without another cat, and just hates when a dog chases her. She just turned 5, so she has settled into the time in her life where human affection is important to her - not that from another cat or dog. Lilly's adoption fee is $80.00. Tag #4913KD
Kiki had her kittens early this year and is one of our first mom cats of the season to be ready for adoption. She is a striking black and white tuxedo who is very friendly. She really enjoys climbing onto your lap and getting attention. She was a good mama but is ready to leave that part of her life behind. She gets along with other cats and tolerates dogs. If she had her choice, she'd probably prefer to live without a dog, but would adjust. Kiki would be fine with kids. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations. Sometimes you give a foster animal a nick name while you're waiting for the perfect name to come to you - then that nick name sticks and becomes the pet's name while in foster care. That's what happened to Tortie Mama and only you know what her real name will be! Tortie Mama's story starts when she came to animal control with only one nursing kitten. As orphan kittens came in, she got more and more babies. When we stepped in to rescue her, she was up to 7 babies! They've all been adopted now and she's waiting for her turn to go home. She has a lot of spunk - she likes to play hard and arm wrestle with her people. She gets along with other cats but would also do fine as an only cat. She has some exposure to dogs and would probably be fine with a very cat-friendly one that would leave her alone. Due to her rough-style of playing, we suggest no young children. Tortie is estimated to be 2-3 years old. She's been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations. HHS Tag#GG
