SIMON – how cute is this little guy! Simon is a Beagle/Jack Russell mix (we think), only weighing about 10 lbs, DOB 1/06. Simon is a loving little
guy, his favorite thing is to crawl up in your lap and cuddle. Simon is playful and enjoys his toys but he is not hyper like many jack russells. He is however a nibbler – he likes to chew on you – your hands or chin so he needs to learn what is acceptable and what is not. He is not being aggressive, just playful but he would do best with older children (8+). Simon is neutered, microchipped and current on his shots.
Cricket is a female Bassett Hound/Shepherd mix. Date of Birth 8/1/06, weighs about 37 lbs. Cricket and Tilly who is also on our website came together as a stray and were picked up by animal control. Cricket is such a wonderful dog to foster. She loves to play with other dogs and loves to roll over for a belly rub. She appears to be housebroken, spayed, microchiped and current on all vaccinations. She loves to give kisses and is an all around happy dog with a tail that always wags. Tag #5180
Sabra is a female liver colored Flat Coated Retriever. She was picked up as a stray by a kill shelter. Her coat was very matted and sun bleached when we rescued her but now with love, good food, and a shelter from the sun her coat is turning a beautiful liver color. Sabra would be best in a home without young children because she might knock them down in her exuberance. She gets along with other dogs and doesn't seem to care about the cats in her foster home. Sabra loves being with people, car rides, and walks. If you are a jogger, looking for a companion, she would love to be your pal! Sabra is crate trained and appears to be housetrained. Joey is a male Lab/Great Dane. Date of Birth 11/14/07, weight 42 lbs. Joey will probably not be as big as a Great Dane but we expect him to be a pretty good size as an adult. He is a typical lab puppy, always happy and wanting to play. Joey is very friendly and loves to run and play with other dogs and people. He is fine with older children (he might knock down little ones). Joey is doing very well with his crate training. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines.

Rodeo is a male Catahoula/Lab mix. Date of Birth 7/17/07, weighs about 50 lbs. Rodeo was given to Heartland because his owner did not have the time for him. He is a sweet puppy but does have alot of energy. He would be a great jogging companion for somebody and would excel at obedience classes. Rodeo gets along well with other dogs and plays with toys but would prefer the attention of his human companions. He has one gorgeous blue eye and little brown spots that are hard to see in this picture. Rodeo has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and waiting for a new home. Tag #4835
Lemon is a male Basset/Beagle that is just the cutest, sweetest thing. When he wags his tail his whole body wags with him. Lemon came to Heartland from a kill shelter going to be euthanized. Heartland couldn't stand for this little guy not to have a second chance so a volunteer quickly went and picked him up. Lemon is very friendly with other dogs, gets along well with children and just wants a forever home to call his home. He is crate trained and would be easily housetrained if he isn't already. Jewel, female, Labrador Retriever, black, date of birth: 1/1/08.
Jewel is just that - a jewel! Do you like to throw the ball for your dog - Jewel will love that! Like to jog with your dog - Jewel will like that! Have other dog members or children 10 and up (smaller children might get knocked over by a growing puppy) - Jewel will like that! Have cats that will let Jewel know that they run the household, and not a puppy - Jewel will respect that. She is so beautiful. Her ears are about an inch longer than is standard for a pure bred Lab, so perhaps she has another relative that is non-Labrador. At about 35 lbs., and at 4 months of age, you should expect her to be 60 to 70 lbs. when mature. Jewel is crate trained and will be ready for adoption on May 14.
